Avitar is in receipt of an abatement request from Consolidated Telephone. Typically, the Selectmen will grant authority for Avitar to handle these matters on their own discretion but keeping the Board of Selectmen informed. Complaint that Right of Way value is over assessed at $90k about $1,660 dollars in taxes.
Appealing value of the leased site with cell tower 242B Derry Road. Assessed value is $521.600. American believes the value is $161,400 but no market evidence was provided therefore denial is not recommended.

State law requires the Board of Selectmen to annually adopt and review a policy for investment of public funds that provides a framework for the Town Treasurer to follow.
Primary purpose, in addition to compliance with state law, is to preserve safety of principal and liquidity of cash to support operational needs.
Requires the Town to maintain Public Officials bond coverage limits of employees with its property liability insurance carrier.
Allows the Treasurer to delegate deposit authority to insure that deposits are conducted at least on a weekly basis and daily if cash exceeds $1,500.
