APPROVAL OF THE 2025 MILEAGE RATE

WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service today announced that the optional standard mileage rate for automobiles driven for business will increase by 3 cents in 2025, while the mileage rates for vehicles used for other purposes will remain unchanged from 2024.
Optional standard milage rates are used to calculate the deductible costs of operating vehicles for business, charitable and medical purposes, as well as for active-duty members of the Armed Forces who are moving.
Beginning Jan. 1, 2025, the standard mileage rates for the use of a car, van, pickup or panel truck will be:
70 cents per mile driven for business use, up 3 cents from 2024.
21 cents per mile driven for medical purposes, the same as in 2024.
21 cents per mile driven for moving purposes for qualified active-duty members of the Armed Forces, unchanged from last year.
14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations, equal to the rate in 2024.

ARTICLE 9 - NEW POLICE DEPARTMENT BUILDING
Shall the Town vote to raise and appropriate the sum of Five Million Nine Hundred Sixty Four Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty Two Dollars ($5,964,832) for the purpose of financing the costs of planning/feasibility analysis, architecture and engineering fees, constructing, sitework, landscaping, furnishing, and equipping and related costs of a new Police Department building, and to authorize the issuance of Five Million Nine Hundred Sixty Four Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty Two Dollars not more than ($5,5964,832) of bonds or notes under and in accordance compliance with the provisions of the Municipal Finance Act (RSA Chapter 33),; and to authorize the selectmen to issue, and negotiate, sell and deliver such bonds or notes and to determine the rate of interest thereon and the maturity and other terms thereof; to authorize the selectmen to apply for, accept and expend federal, state or other aid, if any, which may be available for said project and to comply with all laws applicable to said project; to authorize the selectmen to use any available impact fees to reduce the amount to be bonded; and to authorize the selectmen to take any other action or to pass any other vote relative thereto.
